Last Call! ✈️

Happy Wednesday!

Whooosh…how is it already October of 2021?! 🌪 I feel like we just got home from our epic trip to Brazil! (and - I know - ‘epic’ is a shunned word due to overuse these days BUT I don’t care—> it fits here! 😉) Alas, a lot has happened between January 2020 and now (#understatement 🙄), for ALL of us, and so no wonder the days have both seemed a standstill and a blur!

NOTE:
If you just have time to read the ‘important stuff’ please feel free to skip my little stroll down memory lane and scroll to the bottom for some important information and dates! 😘

Our family has weathered some significant storms since we arrived home from Brazil and - honestly - I think I’m still processing it all…when I started to write this note to you it was mostly ‘business,’ but then I found myself leaning into the joy and gratitude I feel when reminiscing on our trip from right before Covid hit… with immense gratitude for my family’s current good health, and that I’m even able to write this note to you. With that, I decided to share a few images with you…from a simpler time in our world (don’t worry, we’ll get back there!)

I hope you are all finding ways to acknowledge and share your joy and gratitude too. ✨

Deep in the Amazon, visiting an Indigenous community…there wasn’t any shortage of things to see, take in, or photograph. 🦋

Travel has always been really important to me and I’m lucky to have a partner who feels the same. I believe - with every ounce of my being - that our world would be a happier, more empathetic, and peaceful place if more of us stepped outside the familiarity of our hometowns, communities, countries, and cultures.

Many years ago we debated a sojourn that would enable our kids to truly learn Spanish (‘cause we all know that learning language in a classroom is just.not.the.same.). Now, after years of pondering and planning, the day of our next big adventure is drawing near…

which brings us to this note.

I will be closing the studio for almost all of 2022 so that I may be fully present for the family adventures that await. As such, and to ensure each client receives the very best attention:

  • I will only be offering sessions up until November 15th (3’ish weeks from now 😬). This will ensure I can deliver a thorough and caring experience for each of my clients, from their very first call all the way through to the delivery of her prints and wall art. (days are filling up, I only have 3 or 4 spots left for portrait sessions, and same for headshots.)

  • and all print orders must be in by November 20th (barring those whose sessions are in November, they will have until November 30). I won’t have access nor means to place ANY orders during the studio’s closure.

So…

  • if you’ve been contemplating a session but putting it off - consider this your kick in the pants to pick up the phone because YOU DESERVE A PORTRAIT YOU LOVE!

  • likewise, if you’ve been pondering an investment in the art we created during a past session (fine art, matted prints, canvas, metal, eco leather portfolios (my new favourite offering!)…make sure to get your orders in before November 20th. (happy to offer payment plans too if you order prior to end of October)

This eco leather portfolio comes in white or black and can be personalized for you! 🙏🏼

The perfect place to safekeep your beautifully matted prints…prepared using archival paper in Italy. Drool. ❤️

The studio will be closed
from December 2021 through late Fall 2022.

A million thanks to each beautiful soul who - even/especially during a pandemic - trusted me to create her portraits with her. 🙏🏼 I’m cognizant that, for the vast majority of us, stepping in front of a camera is the height of vulnerability - but there you all were: beautiful, strong, sassy, authentic…YOU! ❤️ This is my heart’s work and I’m so humbled to get to do this for a living...thank you. ⭕️

I’m excited to see how this step away from ‘real life’ will shape me and us…I have every hope and belief that I’ll come back stronger, wiser, and more in-tune with all that really makes the world go ‘round:
love, kindness, culture, friendship…and a dash or two of adventure. 💃🏻

I’ll see you all on the other side and can’t wait to pick up where we left off - mainly: EMPOWERING WOMEN!

With gratitude,
