As I neared the milestone, I wondered how I was actually feeling about it and also how I might feel when ‘the clock struck 12.’ 😉

What has been surprising - and beautiful - is my absolute delight in this new era.

Some backstory:

As I pondered when + where + how to share it, I realized the serendipitous nature of it all and KNEW that the Mother’s Day wishes I’d planned to send out to you should include this unveiling… honouring the woman who gave me life, whom we lost way too soon, and from whose life + memory I derive such inspiration. I love you Mom, and I will forever + deeply appreciate you + your example.

With Spring comes one of life’s wonderful milestones: GRADUATION! Whether it’s moving from jr high to high school, graduation from high school, or convocating with a degree… celebrate this pivotal occasion (and gown 😉) with portraits!

Bigger and deeper breaths, a broader perspective in my work, and an intentionally abundant mindset. In 2024, I plan to allow - nay, CREATE - the space + attention to further build on my existing offerings, develop new ones, and to be more fluid in saying ‘yes’…more colouring ‘outside the lines’ 😉! I’m also cognizant that recently, on a day mid-December, I became the exact age that my mom was when she was diagnosed with breast cancer…

I’m so proud to be aligned with as it embodies the mission of providing the highest quality beauty products, that also protect our well being, WHILE also changing a trillion dollar industry for the better. 💪

What a beautiful experience my Mother’s Day contest has been! Nominations came in from kids wanting to honour their moms, from girlfriends who stand in awe of women they love + admire, from husbands who - with humility - admit that they may have let too much time pass without doing something that was ‘just for her’, that his gifts of activities + gifts were almost exclusively family oriented, and from women who self-nominated because they aren’t ever IN the pictures… the diversity in circumstances was - unsurprisingly - as diverse as waves in the ocean… but strength, grit, and grace was woven throughout each nomination.

Mom had just finished her umpteenth round of chemo and was so excited to have gotten the doc’s blessing to go on vacation… as she got settled in the passenger seat I hugged her, told her I loved her and that I hoped they had THE.BEST.TIME. … neither of us having any inkling that our hug + goodbye on the driveway that day would be my last with her.

…a collective energy acknowledging that we are all better when we choose to respond with empathy and compassion… whether it’s holding the proverbial door open for someone with fewer resources, mentoring those who could use a little kindness + guidance, or sentencing someone who has broken the law. Every interaction has the ability to move those involved forward…or not. 🦋
