What a beautiful experience my Mother’s Day contest has been! Nominations came in from kids wanting to honour their moms, from girlfriends who stand in awe of women they love + admire, from husbands who - with humility - admit that they may have let too much time pass without doing something that was ‘just for her’, that his gifts of activities + gifts were almost exclusively family oriented, and from women who self-nominated because they aren’t ever IN the pictures… the diversity in circumstances was - unsurprisingly - as diverse as waves in the ocean… but strength, grit, and grace was woven throughout each nomination.
The winner, who’s been notified and has already booked 🤗, is a 40+ mom, business owner, mom to two, partner, and someone who was recently diagnosed with a lifelong + potential debilitating condition. Her girlfriend saw the contest notice and sent in the most glowing nomination that had me in tears. I recently posted a meme that said:
“Women need other women in their lives who think they are a big deal. No competition, no backhanded comments, no jealousy, nor hate, just ‘I love you, I support you, and there is no one on Earth like you’ kinda energy.”
…here, here - right?! It is such a privilege to honour this friendship + this woman. 🥰 She’s receiving a full portrait session and beautifully finished & matted 8x12 print, prepared at my lab in Italy, of her favourite portrait, valued at $450. She will also receive a 20% discount on any print order beyond her gifted 8x12.
A winner had to be chosen… but the nominations were sooo moving I felt called to do something for the other nominees. So, with much love in my heart, I am excited to announce that every mom nominated has been gifted a free mini-session (something I don’t normally offer), valued at $200, together with a 15% discount on any print orders.
